About this role

Pictou County Auto Repair is a small independent garage serving drivers across Beaurivage and the surrounding county. We are adding a data entry clerk to keep our repair orders, parts invoices and customer records accurate and up to date as the shop grows.

The day is spent at a desk in the front office, working from paper job cards and supplier invoices into our shop management software. You will key in vehicle details, labour and parts lines, and customer contact information, file the paperwork behind each job, and check entries against the originals before they are closed out. The shop is busy, so accuracy and steady pace matter more than speed alone.

What you'll be doing

  • Data entry. Key repair orders, parts invoices and customer details into the shop management software from paper job cards.
  • Verification. Check each entry against the original paperwork and correct any mismatched part numbers, quantities or prices.
  • Filing. Sort and file completed job cards and supplier invoices so any record can be pulled the same day.
  • Front desk support. Answer the phone, take basic messages and pass service requests to the technicians.

What they're asking for

  • Experience. None required; we will train the right person on our software and paperwork.
  • Education. High school diploma or equivalent is an asset but not required.
  • Computer comfort. Basic typing and familiarity with spreadsheets or database programs.
  • Reliability. Punctual attendance and the ability to work through a stack of paperwork without losing track.

What the employer offers

  • Training. Paid onboarding on the shop management software during the first two weeks.
  • Pay extras. Overtime paid at time and a half after 44 hours per week.
  • Leave. Two weeks of paid vacation after the first year, plus statutory holidays.
