LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Yarmouth Seafood Processing runs a fish processing and packing plant in Beausoleil, NB. The office supports the plant floor, and this entry-level clerk role handles the day-to-day paperwork that keeps payables, receivables and payroll records moving.

The day is spent at a desk with invoices, purchase orders and spreadsheets. You will enter data, match invoices to receipts, file records and answer questions from suppliers and plant staff, with the senior accountant on hand to check your work as you learn the system.

What you'll be doing

  • Data entry. Enter supplier invoices, packing slips and expense records into the accounting system accurately and on time.
  • Invoice matching. Match purchase orders to invoices and receiving documents, and flag any differences to the senior accountant.
  • Filing and records. Organize paper and electronic files so payables, receivables and payroll backup can be found quickly.
  • Supplier and staff support. Answer routine calls and emails about payment status and pass anything unusual to the accountant.

What they're asking for

  • Education. High school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary accounting or bookkeeping coursework is an asset.
  • Experience. None required — the employer will train the right person on its systems and procedures.
  • Computer skills. Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic data entry; willingness to learn the company's accounting software.
  • Language. English at CLB 5 (intermediate) for reading invoices and communicating with suppliers and staff.

What the employer offers

  • Training. Paid on-the-job training in the accounting system and plant paperwork.
  • Health coverage. Group health and dental plan after the probation period.
  • Gear. Office equipment and supplies provided; safety footwear supplied for plant-floor visits.
