About this role
Northern Lights Sign & Graphics is a small sign shop in Alexandria, Ontario, and we need a driver to move people and materials around the area. The work is straightforward: pick up passengers and run deliveries on local roads, keeping to a schedule and getting people where they need to go on time.
A typical day starts with a vehicle check and a look at the day's bookings. You'll drive in and around Alexandria and out to nearby towns, pick up and drop off passengers, take sign materials to job sites, and keep the car clean and fuelled. You'll radio or phone in between trips and write up a short log at the end of the shift.
What you'll be doing
- Passenger trips. Pick up and drop off passengers on booked runs and keep to the scheduled times.
- Local deliveries. Carry sign panels and shop materials to customer sites in and around Alexandria.
- Vehicle checks. Check tires, lights, fluids and fuel before each shift and report any problems.
- Trip records. Log trips, distances and fares, and keep the vehicle clean inside and out.
What they're asking for
- Licence. A valid Ontario G-class driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Driving record. A current driver's abstract is required at the interview.
- Local knowledge. Familiarity with Alexandria and the surrounding roads is an asset, but we can train.
- Background check. A criminal record check for the vulnerable sector is required before starting.
What the employer offers
- Fuel cover. The employer pays for fuel and covers routine vehicle maintenance.
- Uniform. A company jacket and signage for the vehicle are provided.
- Flexible shifts. Shift changes can be arranged with a day's notice.
