LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Moose Jaw Signcraft is a small sign shop that makes and installs interior and exterior signage for businesses around Banff and the Bow Valley. We are hiring a store clerk to look after the front counter and keep the shop's retail stock in order while the production crew works out back.

The day starts by opening the counter and checking the till float, then serving walk-in customers who come in for vinyl lettering, custom decals and shop supplies. You will answer the phone, enter orders into our system, pack and label completed jobs for pickup, and tidy the racks between customers. Quiet stretches are for restocking and counting inventory, not for standing around.

What you'll be doing

  • Customer service. Greet walk-in customers, take orders for lettering and decals, and explain turnaround times in plain language.
  • Order entry. Write up sales and custom orders in our point-of-sale system and pass job details to the production crew.
  • Stock and inventory. Receive deliveries, price and shelve retail items, and do a weekly count of fast-moving stock.
  • Shop upkeep. Keep the counter, display racks and front entry clean and presentable through the day.

What they're asking for

  • No experience needed. We will train the right person on our point-of-sale system and order process.
  • Comfortable with numbers. You can handle cash, debit and credit payments and balance a till at close.
  • Reliable attendance. The shop opens at 8:00, so you need to be here and ready before the doors open.
  • Legally able to work in Canada. Standard documentation is required before the start date.

What the employer offers

  • Extended health. Group health and dental coverage after three months with the shop.
  • Staff discount. Cost price on vinyl, blanks and shop supplies for personal projects.
  • Paid training. Training hours are paid at your regular rate from the first day.
