About this role
Chaleur Bay Fisheries Supply is a family-run supplier of nets, rope, floats and deck hardware to fishing and marine crews, operating out of a shop and warehouse in Beaumont. The front desk is the first point of contact for customers calling in orders, picking up gear and arranging deliveries, and we are looking for someone to run it.
The day is spent at the front counter and on the phone: greeting walk-in customers, taking orders and passing them to the warehouse, answering questions about stock and pricing, and keeping the reception area, filing and mail in order. It is a busy, practical front-of-house role in a working supply shop, and we will train the right person on our products and systems.
What you'll be doing
- Front counter. Greet customers, take orders and direct pickups to the warehouse crew.
- Phone and email. Answer incoming calls and messages, route enquiries and take down order details accurately.
- Order entry. Enter orders and customer information into our system and confirm pricing and availability.
- Office upkeep. Handle filing, mail, photocopying and keep the reception area tidy and stocked.
What they're asking for
- No experience needed. We will train the right person on our products, paperwork and phone manner.
- Communication. Comfortable speaking clearly with customers in person and on the phone.
- Computer basics. Able to pick up order entry and email with some instruction.
- Reliability. Able to work the posted hours and get to our Beaumont location on time.
