LMIA approved. This employer is approved to hire a foreign worker into this role, which is what lets a work permit be issued for it. It does not by itself make you eligible.

About this role

Gander Aviation Support Services provides ground handling, parts logistics and maintenance support to regional carriers operating out of the Peace Country. Our accounts payable desk keeps suppliers paid on time so aircraft stay serviceable and crews stay on schedule.

The day runs on invoices. You open the mail and the shared inbox, match purchase orders and packing slips to what was actually delivered, and enter invoices into our accounting system. You follow up on discrepancies with vendors and with our stores team, file the paperwork, and help get the weekly payment run out the door.

What you'll be doing

  • Invoice entry. Enter supplier invoices into the accounting system with the correct vendor, job and cost centre codes.
  • Three-way matching. Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents, flagging price and quantity differences.
  • Vendor follow-up. Contact suppliers by phone and email about missing documents, credits and payment status.
  • Filing and support. Keep payable files and records organized and assist with the weekly cheque and EFT run.

What they're asking for

  • Education. High school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary bookkeeping or accounting coursework is an asset.
  • Computer skills. Comfortable with spreadsheets and able to learn new accounting software with training.
  • Accuracy. Careful with numbers and able to spot a mismatched invoice before it moves along.
  • Eligibility. Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to commute to our Beaverlodge office.

What the employer offers

  • Extended health. Group health and dental coverage after three months, with premiums shared.
  • Training. Paid onboarding on our accounting system and aviation purchasing process.
  • Overtime. Paid at time and a half for hours beyond the standard week during busy periods.
