About this role

Kawartha Home Care Services is a home repair and maintenance provider serving cottages and year-round homes around Amigo Beach and the surrounding Kawartha Lakes area. We are adding a plumber to our small maintenance team to handle service calls, repairs and installations for our residential clients.

The day starts with a dispatch list and a stocked van. You will travel between homes, diagnose leaks, clogs and fixture problems, complete repairs to code, and write up what was done before moving to the next call. Larger jobs are planned with the supervisor and finished over one or two visits.

What you'll be doing

  • Service calls. Diagnose and repair leaks, clogs, faucets, toilets and supply lines in residential homes.
  • Installation. Fit sinks, toilets, water heaters and shut-off valves to Ontario Building Code.
  • Documentation. Record parts used, work completed and follow-up needed on each job ticket.
  • Customer contact. Explain the work to homeowners and keep the work area clean before leaving.

What they're asking for

  • Certification. Must hold or be working toward a valid plumber certificate of qualification in Ontario.
  • Experience. No prior experience required; we will train the right person on our service work.
  • Licence. Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a vehicle for travel between job sites.
  • Physical fitness. Able to lift and carry fixtures, work in crawl spaces and stand for extended periods.

What the employer offers

  • Tools and gear. Company van, fuel card and a stocked tool kit provided for all service calls.
  • Pay extras. Overtime paid at time and a half after 44 hours per week.
  • Leave. Two weeks of paid vacation after the first year of employment.
